A labor story (by mom)

What started out as a routine, text book induction turned into a stressful afternoon leading to a c section.  Here is a time line of events below.

6:15am:  We head to the hospital.  Bon Jovi's Livin' on a Prayer is on the radio.  Great start to the day!
6:55am:  We check into the hospital ready to meet our baby.  We meet our first nurse, Chris--she's great!
8:05am:  Mom's IV is in.
8:30am:  Pitocin started.  Let the contractions begin!
10:50am:  Mom's first not so nice comment to Scott "I must really love you if I'm doing this."
11:15am:  Contractions are getting stronger and more regular.  Fun!  Okay not really.
12:00pm:  Mom wants the epidural!
12:30pm:  Mom gets the epidural!  Oh wait, it's not really working... uh oh.
1:00pm:  Mom's water breaks on its own.  There is light meconium present, but doctor & nurses aren't worried...yet.  The epidural isn't kicking in on the right side.
2:00pm:  Mom's already dilated to 5cm.
3:00pm:  7cm!  Epidural still only working on the left side.  Ouch!  We meet our new nurse, Carrie.  She's a sweetheart.
4:00pm:  Still 7cm.  We try to boost the epidural so it works on the right side too, but to no avail.
5:00pm:  Still 7cm.  Labor is stalled and mom and baby are both showing signs of distress. 
6:00pm:  Still 7cm.  Nap time.
6:30pm:  Yup- still 7cm.  Mom's fever spikes to 101.6 do to an infection (meconium).  Baby's heart rate is fluctuating.
7:00pm:  Doctor decides a c-section is the best option for both mom and baby as labor stalled and both mom and baby are showing major signs of distress.
7:48pm:  Sebastian Russell Graime is born!
